An individual who laced candy with sleeping medication and provided them to minors at a youth camp in the area has confessed to sexual crimes against two boys who were nine and 10.
Jon Ruben was arrested after eight minors and an older person fell ill at Stathern Lodge in July.
The 76-year-old, from that region, admitted guilt to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the judicial center on Friday.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit one of the sexual offences he was facing, which was involving a nine-year-old child.
The accused was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on late November.
'Candy game'
Mary Prior KC, presenting evidence, detailed the defendant's actions to the court.
She said his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a summer program which he operated.
Ruben conducted a "candy game" with the minors, Mrs Prior said, in which he would access the children's bedrooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to ingest treats "as fast as possible".
She told the court the man had engaged in this activity with the children "for many years", and children had previously fallen ill the next day.
She explained Ruben had been capable of justifying this repeatedly as the youngsters being "overexcited from fun", until his stepson had suspicions in recently.
The prosecutor added: "In the summer" his stepchild had suspicions about the activities, for good reason.
"They chose" to investigate in the defendant's belongings."
The prosecutor explained objects including infant oil, ointment and injection devices were discovered, and his stepson contacted the law enforcement about his worries.
She explained Ruben continued to engage in the "sweet game" with six children that night - July 26th - and they were all ill the subsequent day.
"Authorities" had not responded by that stage," she continued.
The regulatory agency, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, previously told that it was investigating the police response of the events.
The legal representative said the children were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so the stepson called the police a second time.
She explained the man then played the "candy game" in a area of five children.
